Families, four-legged friends, invited to celebrate a hero
The Fort Scott Tribune (July 25, 2017)
When thinking of American war heroes, one might not think of the furry, four-legged type.
An event to honor and celebrate Sergeant Stubby, a dog and military mascot who has been called the most decorated animal in American military history, is scheduled to take place from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the community park next to the Lowell Milken Center for Unsung Heroes, 1 S. Main St.
Staff at the educational center, who are organizing and hosting the event, encourage community members to bring their families, friends and four-legged loved ones to celebrate at the inaugural Stubby Day.
